Pearl Ellis Gallery
The Pearl Ellis Gallery is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to supporting and celebrating local artists in the Comox Valley.
Website
-
Web Development
The gallery’s previous website was built over 10 years ago and had become difficult for artists to navigate and for visitors to find upcoming exhibitions and events. I designed and developed a brand-new website with a modern, responsive layout that works seamlessly across devices.
-
UX Improvements
Usability was a key focus. I simplified the show application process, restructured the site navigation, and created clearer pathways for visitors to access exhibitions, events, and membership information.
-
Visual Design
The site now features a clean, gallery-inspired aesthetic with a layout that puts artwork front and center. The new design highlights exhibitions, showcases featured artists, and integrates community-driven content like blog posts and a calendar of events.
-
Branding
As part of the rebranding committee, I contributed to shaping the gallery’s new look and feel, including selecting the updated colour palette, typography, and logo design. The brand now better represents the vibrancy and talent within the Comox Valley arts community.
-
Automation & Workflow
I replaced the manual, paper-based membership and artist onboarding system with automated online workflows. What once took weeks and involved tedious admin now happens instantly—members can join and artists can apply with zero manual processing.
-
Board & Strategy
As a board member at Pearl Ellis Gallery, I contribute to the gallery’s overall strategy—supporting initiatives across business planning, financial decisions, event development, and community building. My goal is to help the gallery grow its reach while staying true to its mission of supporting local artists.

Social Media
I also create social media videos that tell the story of the gallery and highlight the artists behind the work. These short features help make the gallery more accessible and community-focused, giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look and a deeper connection to the local art scene.
