Jahzel Misner

Jahzel Hintay Misner is a designer and artist based in Vancouver Island

When asked to describe Jahzel, clients often use words like reliable, consistent, and “like a rock” (hopefully in a good way!). She stays calm under pressure, figures things out quickly, and is someone people know they can depend on long-term.

Jahzel is a seasoned designer with 20 years of experience turning ideas into successful products. She has managed product life cycles and software development teams with proven results. As an independent designer, she takes a jack-of-all-trades approach, supporting her clients’ growth in whatever way is needed, whether that means helping with business proposals, technical support, marketing, websites, AI consulting, or even assembling office furniture.

Before starting her own company, Jahzel worked with companies including Centric Health, Livecare, Doctors of BC presidents, and Electronic Arts. She also served as a board member for Pearl Ellis Gallery. After completing her board term, the gallery transitioned her into a long-term contractor role so they could continue benefiting from her ongoing support and expertise.

Outside of work, she’s a mom of two who spends her free time painting, sewing, and working on creative projects.

What Sets Jahzel Apart?

  • Best of both worlds

Jahzel immigrated to Canada as a young child from the Philippines. She experienced firsthand the challenges of poverty and adjusting to a new country, culture, and language. On the other hand, growing up in Canada provided her with excellent education and abundant opportunities.

These diverse experiences have shaped Jahzel's unique perspective on life, making her value hard work and appreciate every opportunity. Her upbringing has moulded her into a resilient and deeply grateful person for life's blessings, and these qualities define who she is today.

  • Multi-disciplinary

Jahzel has a background in User Experience Design and has a bachelor's degree from Simon Fraser University, specializing in Design, Technology, and Business. Studying in Italy has also given her invaluable insights into how design impacts culture, motivating her to continue improving and creating unforgettable experiences.

Jahzel's dedication to lifelong learning is one of her remarkable traits. You'll never hear her say, "That's not my job." Instead, she embraces challenges and views them as opportunities to grow beyond conventional "job descriptions." This open-minded approach fuels her passion for exploring new avenues and consistently exceeding expectations in her work.
